Gulbenkian announces Grants for Artistic Creation
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has announced a new call for Grants for Artistic Creation in the areas of Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Cinema and Disciplinary Crossings. This support is intended for the development of full creative projects and partial realization of the creative process, without the obligation to present a finished work.
Applicants can apply for the following levels of support: €4,000, €8,000, €12,000 and €16,000.
All national and foreign artist-authors are eligible for support, either individually or through a non-profit organization (based in Portugal) with which they collaborate in the execution of the project.
Applications must be submitted online, by filling in a form, by March 10. The application must be accompanied by a timetable and detailed description of the project, as well as a description of the budget and funding plan.
The projects will be evaluated by a jury, made up of Ana Pais, Elisabete Paiva, Filipa Oliveira, Maíra Zenun, Mariana Liz, Melissa Rodrigues, Pedro Mendes and Ricardo Barbosa Vicente, according to the artist’s career, formal coherence, budget fairness, uniqueness and relevance of the project in the context of contemporary artistic practices.
The results of the applications will be announced within 95 days of the closing date of the competition. The projects selected must be started and implemented between July 1, 2025 and December 31, 2027.
The regulations for applying for support grants can be consulted on the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s website.
An informative webinar open to all interested parties will also be held on a date to be announced. In addition, the Loja Lisboa Cultura also has a service available to support the preparation of these applications, by appointment, via this link.
