P’LA ARTE Market, at Marvila, on November 9
For almost 4 years now, the P’LA ARTE Market has been held every month, an initiative organised by the civic platform P’la Arte and VIC Properties with the aim of promoting and supporting the visual arts, while at the same time turning the Marvila neighbourhood into an even more dynamic cultural area.
The next event takes place on 9 November, from 2pm to 7pm, in the Prata Riverside Village car park. In a series of identical stalls, made up of small scaffoldings and supports, the market invites 40 visual artists to exhibit their work without intermediaries or sales commissions, in direct contact with visitors.
In addition to this exhibition space, where creators can share their creative processes with the public and with each other, there is also an area dedicated to the sale of artist’s books and presentations by independent publishers. At the same time, a programme of talks, music and workshops opens up a moment of conviviality and exchange about the art market and different artistic approaches. An opportunity to get to know artists, paths, works, and for new acquisitions and commissions.
