Awarded artists at Drawing Room Lisboa 2022
The 5th Edition of Drawing Room Lisboa ended last October 30, with a show of 26 galleries and more than 90 artists represented.
The fair’s condensed dimension has allowed the visitors to engage with art projects and galleries on a deeper scale, a rare chance given the broad scope of offers and productions. Furthermore, institutional partnerships such as parallel exhibitions and awards have added a new dynamic to the fair beyond its mercantilist interest, highlighting the quality of what has been produced lately.
In this sense, Umbigo highlights Maria Capelo, winner of the FLAD Award for Drawing 2022; Ana Pérez-Quiroga, winner of the III Outstanding Art Project Award, represented by the No·No Gallery; Heron P. Nogueira winner of the Millennium bcp Foundation Acquisition Award – Emergent Talent, represented by Módulo Centro Difusor de Arte; Galeria Fonseca Macedo, winner of the Gallery Curatorial Project Award; and António Neves Nobre, winner of the V New Talent Award – Drawing Room Lisboa & Viarco, represented by 3 + 1 Arte Contemporânea.
In one way or another, all these wards have been stimulating the idea of drawing as an autonomous discipline, urging artists to search new lines of investigation within this field.
The 5th edition of Drawing Room Lisboa happened from October 26 to October 30, at the National Society of Fine Arts.
