26th Edition of CineEco in Seia
The 26th Edition of CineEco – Serra da Estrela International Environmental Film Festival will host, from 10 to 17 October, a series of movies, documentaries and talks regarding the environmental and ecological issues.
77 works from 25 countries are in competition, with a great participation of the Portuguese Language and the Portuguese environmental cinema.
On the table, the urgencies rendered the pandemic, the wildfires and consequent amends, the reforestation, the wildlife, the conflicts between culture and nature and the possible balance, the indigenous communities, the constructions on landscapes and the urban developments, and the daily changes necessary for a shared sustainability.
Given the fact that this is also a competition, the festival is being organized in six categories: the international and in Portuguese Language feature film, the international and in Portuguese Language short features, the series and journalistic report and, finally, the regional panorama for the works based in Serra da Estrela and Seia.
Due to the COVID-19, the festival has reshaped itself to accommodate the new measures for screening, with a limited capacity shortened and the expansion of a parallel programme of Ecotalks to be streamed.
