Conference Photographic Work – Last 70 years: Practices and Perspectives from the PLMJ Foundation Collection

With its inception at the end of the 20th century, the Collection of the PLMJ Foundation is one of the most complete collections in terms of contemporary photography in the Portuguese speaking countries, having organized several past exhibitions and publications in which the curatorial line was developed and worked alongside its artists and photographers.

It is from this vast collection, with already 1300 works of art, that the PLMJ Foundation is now presenting on the September 25 the conference Photographic Work – Last 70 years: Practices and Perspectives from the PLMJ Foundation Collection, featured in the European Heritage Days 2020.

The conference will have as key speakers the curator Sérgio Mah the artists Rui Calçada Bastos and Ana Janeiro, the curator João Silvério (a usual presence in the PLMJ Foundation exhibitions and editions) and will be moderated by the journalist Maria João Costa.

A musical performance by Inês Campos will also take place and a guided tour to the exhibition FPM #1, at the PLMJ Foundation Gallery.

Don’t miss it, on September 25 at the PLMJ auditorium, 6 pm.
