5 Cultural Suggestions — Matteo Consonni
Every week, UMBIGO invites two people to share their 5 cultural suggestions. What can we do at home? From a book to a podcast, album or film: here are recommendations from artists, curators, gallery owners, cultural activists, friends.
We will share the recipe for what makes us better, and we remain united and positive.
Los Detectives Salvajes
A modern day Odyssey, chasing stories, poets and poems that seem to have disappeared into nowhere.
Le Comte de Monte-Cristo
A novel that can show us the true value of patience.
The artist Jason Dodge started this project to publish works by exceptional contemporary poets.
The day of a bourgeois couple in the 60s can still tell us a lot about the current “mal de vivre”.
Stations of the Crass
It’s Crass’s Second LP, released in 1979. It’s the closest thing to the end of music that anyone can experience. Crass influenced not only the punk movement, but also contemporary art.
Matteo Consonni is co-founder of Galeria Madragoa, Lisbon. Before opening his own gallery in April 2016, he was director of Galleria Franco Noero, in Turin, since 2010. Consonni obtained a MA in Curation at Goldsmiths, London.
