Prize-Competition Young Art Millennium bcp 2019
Assembled by Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa, and sponsored by Fundação Millenium bcp, the Prize-Competition Young Art Millennium bcp 2019 aims to assess the art production made by artists who finished their course over the last two years. In this sense, it also proposes a glimpse over the Portuguese art education and the markets in what concerns to young artists.
Two winners will be awarded with two different prizes: the first will have the opportunity of making a residency in Madrid, at Atelier Solar, and the second a residency in the Centro Português de Serigrafia, the institution that is also featuring the finalists’ exhibition. The jury is composed of Daniel Silvo González, Cristiana Tejo and Gwen Farrelly, who selected from over 100 replies, ten young authors.
The selected artists for this 2019 edition are: Fábio Colaço (FBAUL), Poliana de la Barba (FBAUP), Fátima Frade (Ar.Co), Fábio Araújo (FBAUP), José Sottomayor (FBAUL), Rodrigo Rosa (UAlg), Maria Bernardino (ESAD-Caldas da Rainha), Manuel Fonseca (FBAUL), Joana Aparício Tejo (FBAUL), Axelle Camille (ESAD-Caldas da Rainha).
The exhibition opens today, 19 September, 6pm, at Centro Português de Serigrafia, and will be on until 4 October.
