Call to support art production by “la Caixa” Foundation
“la Caixa” Foundation is launching a call to allocate a grant for the creation of contemporary art, in a continuous effort to promote the connection between society and the art scene. 2018 is not an exception and the Foundation will invest 10 million Euros in this activity and other social initiatives.
The grants for art production – happening every two years – are intended to obtain resources for works meant to enter an exhibition. The target are emerging artists – less than 30 years old, living in Portugal or Spain – and “the financial support includes the artists’ fees and the production costs of the work”, as well as a close follow-up, which will allow to help them in the contacts with external resources.
The final exhibition of the works may be held in any chosen country, as long as it is kept within due artistic context. It is also added, according to the Information given, that “once the works are produced and exhibited in their specific context, all of them will be under the responsibility of the Consulting Committee for “la Caixa’s” Contemporary Art Collection, which will consider their acquisition and inclusion in the collection”.
Considering the importance of these contributions to the leverage of young careers, Umbigo joins this initiative making available all its communication channels.
Applications will be opened until September 25th and the winners will be announced in December. More information here.
