The Island of Madeira has proven its charm as a touristic venue, but has also shown the potential as a destination for those who enjoy alternative music. MADEIRADiG has quickly built its reputation as a solid and rather interesting festival of electronic, ambient and experimental music, with a visual identity very present, too, through its fourteen editions.

The festival goes from 1 to 4 of December and will be hosted in the usual auditorium of MUDAS – Museum of Contemporary Art of Madeira, a place known for its architectural insertion, the beautiful landscape and the peaceful sight of the ocean. This place and the careful curatorship of artists have qualified MADEIRADiG as one of the most interesting festivals of performative and audiovisual arts.

Until now two big names have been confirmed: the Australians The Necks, known for their experimental and avant-garde jazz, thirty years of practice and several albums recorded and greatly praised by the critics, and; Carl Stone, a pioneer of the electronic and computer music, and an avid manipulator and collector of sounds for later use in his enigmatic soundscapes.
