FUSO 2017 – Video Art in the gardens and terraces of Lisbon

The Lisbon International and Annual Video Art Festival, commonly known as FUSO, merges its program with the Lisbon, Ibero-American Capital of Culture 2017.

A vast selection of videos may be seen in different terraces and gardens of Lisbon, with the past and the present as themes and the contemporaneity also as background.

Several curators, from all over the world, selected the works in presentation, with natural predominance of Latin-American countries being represented. Emília Tavares will represent Portugal and her program will be shown at the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga [National Museum of Ancient Art]. As for the artistic director of FUSO, Jean-François Chougnet, he will present the Open Call destined to a competition for Portuguese artist or foreigners living in Portugal, with Ana Anacleto as jury.

This year another artist will be honored and this time it’s Paulo Bruscky, a Brazilian artist celebrated by his conceptual and postal art from the 60’s and his video and sound art from the 70’s onwards.

The full program is available at http://www.fusovideoarte.com/, with events from 22 to 27 August.
